Edit: maybe that is looking from the rear, too because I see aluminum in the front of his photo. I can't remember to much about 1014 PTO repair (other than I did buy a new 540 center drive piece and lip seal ), but I did find this thread with another photo of internal view = looks like he was able to disassemble "from the front". Does that come out? I haven’t looked at it much, just a quick glance
Hesston 1014 hydraulic pump how to#
I stumbled across this post while looking at how to fix my lip seal leak on my Heston 1014 and am wondering how to dissasmble it? I’ve taken the 4 bolts out that hold the the front piece of the pump to the main body and it looks like there’s a snap ring in there. Use a seal conditioner like when you re-assemble. If I remember correctly, I changed the lip seal and the shaft part (that seal lip rides on ), that has the 540 splines in it.

I did one, and it must have been in 2012, ( per photo download date. Plan to re-build the pump over winter but don't want to take it apart now because I don't have the time and don't want to wait for parts unless I have to. I run it all day most times, so I can check and fill each morning. Is it ok to run it like this? I have around 500 acres to do yet this year.

It leaks when you have it on the PTO shaft, but when you take it off it doesn't leak. On the hydraulic pump it is leaking from where the pump connects to the tractors PTO shaft (where it is bored out for the spines ).
